SAM VAN GURP x ESTHER JONGSMA
VANTOT is the collective title for the works of Esther Jongsma and Sam van Gurp. Both Eindhoven based designers graduated at Design Academy Eindhoven. Operating from The Netherlands VANTOT focuses on autonomous product design and commissioned work. The Studio Designs and develops works which include new experiments based on curiosity, context, graphical elements, new production methods, mathematics and physics.

New additions to the family.
Limpid Lights continues on the principle of manipulating the light by moving the lightsource. The fresh and bright light of LED can be manually masked with various handblown glass shades. In this way the light can be playfully adapted to a more fuzzy, hazy, smoky, dusky, foggy, blurry and or coloured light.

Passage Plateau, derived from the project Passage, is now featured in a new jacket. The wood inlayed patterns come in three different colours: Brown, Green/Blue and Black. The top is treated with a satin gloss coating. Passage Plateau is a multi-purpose product. It functions well for serving food or drinks as for decorative purposes.

Vantot curated and produced the pop-up exhibition of Collectie Veenhuizen during the congres 'Boeiend Bouwen' organized by and for the ministry of justice. The Exhibition included various works by Design Academy Alumni for Collectie Veenhuizen.

We are very happy to tell Esther and Sam are selected for the Pure Talents Contest at IMM Cologne! Out of more than 800 applications both Sam and Esther are in the race within 20 selected projects. These will be presented during Imm Cologne at Koelnmesse from the 19th till 25th of January 2015. You will find both projects at the Pure Talents area in hall 1.1.
